"A very nice floor nailer" 2010-02-06
By K. Crocker (Durham, NH USA)
I have now used this nailer to put down 700 sq ft of hardwood flooring in my daughter's house in Hawaii. It worked perfectly with only one adjustment needed on my part. The single adjustment was adding a thin shim to the floor plate to make the staples hit the correct spot at the base of the tongue in the 1/2 inch thick flooring. the included manual was very close on the actual air pressure settings needed and had a section on how to clear a jammed staple which we needed to do twice. The cost of the tool plus shipping to Hawaii was less than the rental cost of a floor nailer in Honolulu for 4 days and we can resell the tool afterward. What a great way to spend the winter months of New Hampshire away from the snow and ice, laying hardwood floor.

"Good floor nailer for diy'er" 2010-01-20
By C. L. Tackett (Lexington, SC USA)
Purchased to lay ~800 sq ft of 3/4" prefinished oak (5" wide planks) in my house. Worked well, used 2" staples. Comes with bases for different thickness flooring. Unfortunately, even when using the base for 3/4" flooring, we still had to 'shim' the base with several layers of duct tape to get the flooring staples to go in at the correct place on the tongue of the flooring. This was mentioned in other Amazon reviews as well (and the instructions for the flooring we nailed down), but it is something to note. If you are nailing down the flooring and tearing up the tongues of the wood, break out the duct tape :). Other than that, nailer seems well made, and not "plasticky". I couldn't justify paying $400-500 for a name-brand nailer for what I was doing. I'm nailing down 4 seperate rooms of flooring, each on a weekend, and the cost of this nailer covers what it would have cost me to rent one.

"Great Value for the money" 2010-01-10
By Michael P. Desjardins (Maine)
I just recieved my nailer. I have not used it yet but the visual quality is excellent. I have also borrowed one of the high end nailers. They are very similar in feal and exterior quality. This one even has a rubber grip that the high end unit does not have. I am anxious to compare the operation of the two units side by side. This appears to be a good unit for a home owner. Hammer is cheap but I can buy a pretty nice hammer for the 300 I saved. I will return with a report once I use this unit.Ramsond RMM4 2-in-1 Air Hardwood Flooring Cleat Nailer and Stapler Gun, Yellow

"Excellent, Durable and Reliable Cleat Nailer" 2010-01-08
By Gustavo Barrera (Mahwah, NJ)
Before purchasing this cleat nailer, I had never conducted a hardwood floor installation. I was on the verge of purchasing a Bostich Manual nailer but thankfully I saw this pneumatic nailer listed on Amazon. My only comment is that this Ramsond nailer is the best $200 investment of my do-it-yourself life. I ordered it and it arrived within 4 days in perfect condition. I then used it to install approximately 650 square feet of 3/4" Bruce Hardwood flooring. The total project used approximately 3000 cleats. I had ZERO misfires or jams. The only problems were caused by MY failure to properly strike the piston with the mallet. As a matter of fact, it took only about 5 practice cleats to determine how to use this nailer. The nailer itself is extremely sturdy with a handle that feels comfortable since it has a nicely designed rubber grip. I found that setting my air compressor to 105 to 110 psi yielded the best results for my floor. The key to using this tool is to firmly hold the nailer down while striking the piston with a steady mallet stroke. I installed pre-finished flooring therefore the design of this nailer prevented damage to the floor surface during the nailing process. After installing 32 boxes of flooring, the nailer still looks brand new.
